Nelson Mandela’s memorable golden quote about sports is the light that has continued to illuminate our path: “Sports have the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire, the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to the youths in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where there was once only despair. It is more powerful than Government on breaking down the radical barriers. It laughs in the face of all types of discrimination. Sport is a game of lovers.” The Freedom Run, Ebonyi 2021 was organized on this belief and the impact will ever remain memorable in the minds of everyone who participated in Ebonyi State.
